Om 1 January 2021 new rules on vehicle blind spots came into force in France (Décret n° 2020-1396 of 17 November 2020 and Arrêté du 5 janvier 2021 portant application de l'article R. 313-32-1 du code de la route relatif à la signalisation matérialisant les angles morts sur les véhicules lourds).Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes (carrying goods or passengers) need to display a sticker on the vehicle sides and rear, indicating the presence of blind spots, WHILE THEY ARE IN URBAN AREAS, (unless this is physically impossible, for example with car carriers).Vehicles which use similar devices to warn of blind spots (in compliance with legislation from another Member state) will be deemed to comply with the French Regulation.Failure to comply could result in fines of €135. |
